Note: I haven't put a ton of time in yet, but I believe I have enough experience to write a review of the early access status of the title.Dark Quest 2 is a turn based RPG that reminds me of Darkest Dungeon. I make that comparison in all the best ways especially in the way that, like Darkest Dungeon, this game might be in early access but is full of content, mostly bug free and already has solid gameplay mechanics that are fun and engaging. You control a party of heroes in a quest to defeat an evil sorcerer. To do this, you must do battle in a series of dungeons while managing your team in town between missions. It's very addicting and well worth the budget price tag. Pros- Great art style and music- Challenging but fair gameplay- Runs great and is easy on the walletCons- Settings and characters are really genericSuggestions- Would be great if the maximum movement restriction could be removed when rooms are free of enemies. Kinda annoying having to switch between your characters 2-3 times just to move through an empty room- Keybindings plz?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXHiJSBb_zo. Very solid RPG for the price. 6 recruitable heroes, interesting skills that allow you to do great combos. Enemies are stronger as you progress the game and their behavior decent. Graphic style is fitting the narrative of the game and you will really feel like you are in the story, in the dungeon. That being sad, the game is nothing inovative or groundbreaking, but fine RPG for easy times. Dont get me wrojng, it can still punish you plenty, but the challenge is on "okay" level. A very nice addicting game sporting great graphics and very good balance.. Good o fashion dungeon crawler with single player and co-op. Upgrade weapons, visit the vendors, recruit hero's and pickup characters some of the dungeons. Note crafting is really stock item upgradesThe more you play the stronger your hero gets. More loot would be great but probably better detection skill bonus could effect that. Walking tutorialThe mod support for more maps adds great replay valueWould have loved more voice acting as the intro is really goodIf you liked Hero Quest you'll love this. Ok .. I played it through in about calm 5 hours. I quite enjoyed it as I like the "easy listening" kind of games. However, having a brothel in town where your heros get an healthy f*** für coin to buff them before the mission is a little strange .. isn't it?. This game is beautiful! It's like an old turn-based fantasy role playing game, with stunning art and music!Traps, spells, treasures, and enemies, and much more! Go and get lost in the Castle!. I wanted to love this game. Huge fan of Hero Quest, still own the board game =DFor me the game breaker is the fact that when replaying a mission, the mission gets harder. More monsters/traps/ect.How do you farm a previous mission to get stronger for the next, when the previous mission itself is vamped up so heavy?Example, mission #3, first room, one bad encounter with 3 mage, 2 warriors, and an assassin mostly wiped the party outright, barbarian is left with 2 hp, so party throws up the white flag and hoofs it back to town. Not enough gold to revive and heal everyone. So we try and take the revived archer and the wounded barb on mission #2, That way we can earn some gold and revive the dwarf. And actually afford to sleep at the inn.Mission #2 is now harder since we beat it once. Every room has more mobs and there are extra traps to trigger as well. The archer and barbarian do not make it. So one bad encounter basically ended the game. It was impossible to recover from an almost party wipe, even in the early game.I don't understand the idea of making prior missions harder and harder every time it's played. How is someone supposed to recover from a bad adventure? I didn't like this aspect of the game at all and feel it ruins it.Also as noted on other posts, why doesn't the hero that notices a trap on the floor, STOP? Would any adventurer you know keep walking over a trap they noticed before stepping on it?Multiplayer is limited to one character each, any reasons? Why can't we control up to two each for a full party? This could be a nice little game, but it needs work.. you have come far, further anyone would expect...fun game. good for <10 hours.. It's a good game for £5, looks good and is fun to play. Easy to complete once you max out a couple of characters out and find a party dynamic that works for you. Though, if I'm completely honest, the character development/level up/equipment improvement is poor; they tried to do something a little different, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. The story is really quite bad as well, at no point did I feel engaged with what was going on, which is REALLY important if you re going to have a success dungeon crawl due to how monotonous they can get.If they develop a third edition, I'd be happy to pay £20 for it IF they create a proper narrative, better character development and less restrictive equipment choices. There is SO much potential here, just needs somebody to create a better world and characters. Put another way, if Warhammer Quest and Dark Quest merged into one super game, I’d be happy. Better still just ask Games Workshop for the rights to develop 1980s classic Hero Quest… Experimental Branch!: Hey Miners!. UPDATE 21 - HOT FIX 1 + 2: UPDATE: Hot Fix 2 released!
